Setback for DFB team: Poland scores against Portugal
A draw against Portugal was enough for Poland in the Nations League to supplant Germany in terms of European Championship qualifiers. The DFB team now lands in the second pot.
The German national football team threatens on the way to EM 2020 at least a tough chunk. By the 1-1 (0-1) of Poland to the conclusion of the Nations League in Portugal fell the team of coach Joachim Loew from Lostopf 1.
Poland played without Lewandowski
Andre Silva (34) had headed Portugal in Guimaraes after a corner from Bayern Munich's Renato Sanches. Arkadiusz Milik (66.) scored the penalty for the Poles, Danilo Pereira had caused an emergency stop the penalty and saw the red card.
Poland had to compete without Bayern's Robert Lewandowski, the star striker had left before the game because of knee problems. Due to the points win Poland, unlike Germany, but now still one of the top ten teams of the A-League in the Nations League and is thus set in the draw for the European Championship qualifier in pot 1.
